Here is something interesting that happened to the this very
thin paper slip when i placed a cup of steaming hot tea and a
spoon on it - those burn marks. The cup itself was hot enough -
this is exactly what microwave ovens tend to do! While the
other side of paper remained unaffected.

cup mats are made for a reason .......
Never heard about those before. Let me check the super store next street whether they have those or not.
